The Program on International Financial Systems is dedicated to building a global financial system for the 21st century.

The Program on International Financial Systems (PIFS) hosts international symposia, regulatory education programs and special events that foster dialogue and promote education on issues impacting the global financial system. PIFS also conducts research on these issues.

Harvard Law School is a non-financial sponsor of PIFS’ events and PIFS collaborates with Harvard Law School Executive Education on education programs for regulators. For an overview of PIFS’ activities please see our Annual Report.

Announcement: PIFS Establishes Annual Student Writing Award at Harvard Law School

July 2026 – The Program on International Financial Systems has established the PIFS Student Writing Award on the Global Financial System at Harvard Law School through a permanent endowment. The annual award recognizes outstanding scholarship by a Harvard Law School student whose paper makes an exceptional contribution to the study of the global financial system. By endowing this award, PIFS is investing in the next generation of thought leadership on international finance, financial regulation, and the institutions that shape the global financial system.
